OBSERVE • INTERPRET • TRANSLATE
CITY READINGS is an international academic immersion programme that explores cities through architecture, culture, and representation. Rooted in the methodology of Observe • Interpret • Translate, the programme invites participants to engage with the city as a living classroom. Through walking, dialogue, critical observation, and their chosen Reading Expression, participants develop individual perspectives while contributing to a collective understanding of place through a shared final outcome.

Every city is more than its landmarks. It is a living landscape shaped by architecture, public spaces, culture, memory, and everyday life. To understand a city is to experience the relationships that give it meaning.
CITY READINGS was founded on the belief that cities are best understood through direct engagement. Rather than observing them from a distance, participants explore them on foot—questioning, documenting, discussing, and reflecting on the built environment and the lives it supports.
The programme encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper awareness of place, inviting participants to see cities not simply as destinations, but as living classrooms.
The goal is not simply to visit a city, but to learn how to read it.

Every street, square, building, neighbourhood, and conversation becomes part of the learning experience. Rather than studying the city from a distance, participants immerse themselves within it—walking, observing, discussing, documenting, and reflecting on the environments they encounter.
